Midnight Rambler

Concept: Restoring the dressing room back to its former purpose, a box office. Specifically on 31st December 1963, when the Rolling Stones played. We’ll give the audience facts about the time whilst treating them like a member of the public attending the gig.

Pre-performance: We will put posters up around Lincoln advertising the Rolling Stones at the drill hall on New Years Eve on 8th May.

Sight: The room will be set up with a counter top covered in research/photographs all relating to the drill hall/the rolling stones/1963. We will be wearing fashion from the 1960’s and will have some coats from the time that we will give the audience in return for their modern day one.

Sound: We will have a live recording of a rolling stones concert playing as if we can hear them playing in the auditorium

Smell: We are going to have a popcorn machine that will fill the room with that smell. The natural scent of the room is slightly dusty and we are also hoping to attempt to make the room smell like cigarette smoke.

Taste: We are going to offer our audience popcorn and coca cola as refreshments whilst they ‘wait for availability’ of tickets

Space/past: Transforming room into what it was formerly used for, not exact – symbolic.

Architecture: The room will resemble 1963 rather than recreate it, there will be elements of the 60’s e.g. the clothing, the radio, the tickets

Audience: interactive, immersive, could possibly performance, given role of public in 1963 (hoping to get a ticket on door on night of gig) each performance will be slightly different depending on audience responses much like a real gig

Documented: blog posts, pictures, ticket stubs, research

Access: pictures on blog, day of performance
