Technology & Our Piece.

The use of technology in our site performance is the bridge between timelines, our piece plans to show different motifs from different times so the use of video and audio is another piece of the modern day.

VIDEO – INTRODUCION

We are going to introduce the one audience member to our performance via an introduction video on a tablet. We will have filmed the introduction in the Phil Cosker room (once called the Abbey Room), this is a solution to when we were told that the meetings we are basing our piece around may or may not have been held in the Room Upstairs or the Phil Cosker room, by explaining this in the video the clip can be seen as its own motif for our piece as well as a simple introduction.

(Video will be posted when it has been edited)

AUDIO

As narrative throughout the piece we will use audio through headphones that the audience member (and ourselves) will listen to, this will be to limit live contact between us and the watcher, as each motif begins the watcher will be introduced to it by either verbatim quotes from the minute books we have used for research or by a script written by us, we will make it clear which is which.

The first audio file is of myself reading out an introductory passage from the one of the minute books as part of a loop of introductions that we found came up regularly at the beginning of each meeting.

The second audio file is of Holly reading out a letter that we found in the minute book from a member of the Drill Hall committee, this letter was recorded on Wednesday 10th June 1953.

(Audio will be posted when it has been edited)
